I’ve spent some time in the past week re-arranging my office space. I’m really fortunate in that I have a tiny guesthouse – just 450 s/f – at the rear of my house. It’s funny to have a guest house, since the main house is only 1100 s/f, but there it is! It’s very cute and I enjoy it both inside and out.
Is that where I do my writing, you ask? Nope. It’s where I run my business. My goal is for it to be my creative space. With that in mind, I started re-arranging desks and materials so that all of the things I use most often are just at arm’s length.
Two windows in front of my desk look out over my charming garden. I am very lucky to have been blessed with a green thumb. Soon I plan to post a series of photos that I have taken in my garden that are rather nice.
Talk about an optimum working space and commute! I have it.
At the present time, I am over-committed. In addition to running my business, which is thankfully picking up at last, I am taking a course in non-fiction article writing, as well as two courses in support of my coaching business. In addition to that, I am studying my digital camera with the aim of sharpening my focus and exploring Photoshop CS4 on lynda.com. Last but not least, I am presenting a workshop on the new leadership role of women tomorrow.
Is this a bit much? Yes. But, I committed to doing what I love and right now all of these seem very important to me.
Things I am unable to do right now include adding more genealogy stories and making jewelry. I’m really beginning to get the urge to make more jewelry.
